Course Reflection Prompts Respond to the following questions on your wiki.
1. What outcomes had you envisioned for this course? Did you achieve those outcomes? Did the actual course outcomes align with those that you envisioned?
For this course I envisioned learning how to soot a video and programs that allw you to edit along with textbook information relevant for the classroom. I did achieve these outcomes and more. I learned how to embed videos from the web into a stroy format and what makes a good video. I also learned about the various softwareprograms available that can guide you editing a video. The actual course outcomes aligned with what I envisioned for the course. The course showed me alot of applications that I was unfamiliar with such as Microsoft MovieMaker and Adobe Premier. 2. To the extent that you achieved the outcomes, are they still relevant to the work that you do in your school? Why or why not?
Everything I learned in this course is relevant in a math classroom. I have found websites that have used clips of different careers and added a math lesson along with the video. I would like to do something along that avenue and maybe post it to TeacherTube. 3. What outcomes did you not achieve? What prevented you from achieving them?
The individual portion of the class allowed me to do the same thing that the group assignment had us to do. I think this course achieved it's goal of having me to participate from various views points as narrator, editor, and copyrighter. 4. Were you successful in completing the course assignments? If not, what prevented or discouraged you?
As a group we had three weeks to complete the PSA at first I thought that I would be difficult to finish, however the wiki page was a great tool for this assignment. We were able to gather information collectively and input constructive feedback. Jawad, one of my group memebers was able to find a site called oovoo.com were we could talk live from the webcam for free.
5. What did you learn from this course: about yourself, your technology and leadership skills, and your attitudes?
After taking this course I have learned that I have alot to continue learning about technology and I know that if I don't continue learning that I tend to lose what I have learned. I have also learned that when you keep learning you become an expert in that field of study and it makes you a valuable commodity. I worked with a great group and a since of leadership did emerge, however I was able to allow others in the group to show their ideas. I think I am a great leader because I am interested in the common goal. I think lack of planning and time management creates attitudes whether good or bad and my attitude is one that likes to complete the assignment so that we can all move on. I have learned so much so far and I am eager to learn more.
